How to protect ourselves from VUCA?

Undeniably, we are going through difficult times. "The mother of all crises", as Nouriel Roubini calls it, has become the favorite topic of all business publications and experts in the field.

We are "bombarded" daily with increasingly gloomy news: the debt crisis, inflation, the recession in the West, the real estate market, the FTX bankruptcy, the insolvency of Romanian entrepreneurship. Online or offline, the MESSAGE IS THE SAME.

But it's not just about the message, changes are visible everywhere. Small and medium-sized companies face major challenges, from labor shortages and fiscal unpredictability to energy skyrocketing prices, all of which are taking their toll.

That entrepreneurship flagellum that in the past 30 years has hardly taken root is being put to the test now.

In the late 1980s, the US Army, to reproduce the new reality marked by the end of the Cold War, later followed by American teachers and economistsWarren Bennis and Burt Nanus,in their work"Leaders. The Strategies For Taking Charge"introduce the concept of:

V – volatility

U – uncertainty

C – complexity

A – ambiguity

As my friend says, VUCA is everywhere!

This is the opportune time to raise awareness, develop a crisis strategy and implement it.

Don't expect the male fairy from a popular TV commercial to come over and miraculously turn things around. Success depends on each individual's resilience and skills. And perhaps more than ever, the expertise of a crisis management specialist can make the difference between a successful turnaround and bankruptcy.

Together we can create a new VUCA meaning:

V – vision

U – understanding

C – clarity

A – agility
